ACAD projectgeometry – how to bring 3D and 2.5D documentation together

In one of my older articles, I stated that CAD documentation of stratigraphic units is in the vast majority of cases 2.5D (semi 3D) – plan plan projection at a certain height.

Due to the widespread 3D photogrammetry, geometries are often created, where the surface of the unit is formed by a mesh and the edges of the unit are 2.5D lines.
However, I discovered a way to unify it and “map” the line geometry to copy the shape of the mesh.

Try projectgeometry command.

If resulting set of photogrammetry is a bunch of 3D faces, convert them to surface or mesh first.
